During a visit to Brentwood County High School on Friday (5th March), UKIP MEP for the Eastern Counties, Stuart Agnew gave a talk to sixth formers during which he highlighted the way in the which successive EU treaties have removed the right of voters to decide who governs our country at a General Election. Mr Agnew said: "Each treaty has transferred more power to unelected officials in Brussels, leaving voters in Britain with an ever diminishing power over the running of their country. We still elect a governing party but there is very little left of the governance of the country over which they have full authority. 75% of all legislation passing through Westminster originates in Brussels. Our democracy is like an elastic band stretched to its absolute limit. Very soon, it will snap". ![]() Stuart Agnew MEP giving his talk at Brentwood County High School
